Most of Sweden's over 100 newspapers, as well as radio and TV stations, government offices and private corporations, subscribe to TT's service.
We operate with an effective and very professional staff for news coverage of all sorts: domestic and international; sports, economy and entertainment; for print media, radio and TV, and all types of electronic media.
Multi media reporters
In our main office in Stockholm you find our specialized desks for politics, sports, economy, etc. We have bureaus in Gothenburg and Malmö and correspondents in other major cities, and cooperate with local media all over Sweden to ensure detailed coverage everywhere.
Our reporters not only write their stories, but also record soundbites for our radio service and sometimes make camera interviews for our video news clip service.
For international coverage we have correspondents and stringers, and our foreign news desk subscribes to some of the major international news agencies.
For major events and some feature stories, our reporters often travel abroad. We also syndicate stories with news agencies in Denmark, Finland and Norway.
All our news services are in Swedish.
Apart from a well-renowned sports coverage in text, we provide extensive sports tables, result files, and instant result-SMS goal service for major football events.
For graphics and photos, we cooperate closely with Svenska Grafikbyrån, Pressens Bild and Scanpix.
TT employs around 140 people, most of them reporters and editors, and our subsidiary TT Spektra another 40.
TT Spektra for all the extra goodies
TT Spektra provides a wide spectrum of feature stories in special fields like travel or pets and ready-for-print page services for local newspapers with, for instance, international and domestic news or the TV-listings of the papers' own choices.
Technically advanced
TT prides itself in offering modern, flexible and highly reliable technical solutions for all customers. Two examples: We have been active internationally in developing technical standards for the news industry from the very beginning. And we were the first agency world-wide to offer a news-MMS service.
Some background
TT was created through a merger of three competing news agencies in 1922. At the start, the news stories were distributed by mail copies and individual telephone calls to the newspapers! Our first radio news broadcast was heard in 1924.
Today, besides providing a full news service with relevant backgrounds for all news desks around Sweden, we offer specialized news services that we update for our customers text, pictures, video and audio for all types of electronic media.
TT is owned by several groups of newspapers, representing major media houses in Scandinavia as well as regional Swedish media.
TT is politically unaffiliated and free of government influence.
